WELCOME TO HOTEL LE FAIRVIEW!
After weekly ultrasound appointments an ultrasound showed that my cervix started shortening. Therefore my doctor felt it was best that I be admitted to the high risk ward of the hospital to be placed on strict bed rest. So when I was just 23 weeks pregnant I packed my bags (more like half my room!) and moved into my new room! Once unpacked and comfortable we basically just sat around for a couple hours waiting to hear on the doctor. After the day was over it was time for my Mom and Kenny to leave. My heart just sank. I didn't want Kenny to leave! But I knew he had to be at work early, and I knew that he would be back to see me in just a few hours (about 12.... haha).
As the days went on I basically ate the same thing daily!
- Rice Chex
- Blueberry Muffins
- Chocolate Milk
- Chicken Fingers
- Mashed Potatoes
- Rigatoni w/ Meat Sauce
- Baked Potatoes
- Pizza
- PB&J
- Jello
- Cookies (OH THE COOKIES WERE SO GOOD!)
- Salad
-Gatorade
Those were the things I ate for 6 WHOLE WEEKS! I am a very picky eater and I refused to eat everything else they had. Luckily I wasn't on a strict diet so outside food was welcomed in at anytime! My good friend, Leann (who had QUINTUPLETS!) was and still is awesome! She gave me so many tips and hints on what to expect while on bed rest, while in the NICU, and when the babies come home! She even brought me her favorite pizza! Baked potato pizza! AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!
Everyday it was the same routine!
7:30am - Check my vitals and babies heartbeats
8:00-8:30am - Breakfast
8:30-3:00pm - Watch TV (I think I watched every episode of a baby story, say yes to the dress, and Maury hahaha!), Color pictures (which I decorated my entire room), do crossword puzzles, Go on Facebook, Play some games on my phone, snack, and all that stupid fun stuff!
12:00pm - Check vitals, babies heartbeats, and lunch
3:30-4:00pm - Kenny and other family usually arrive (still watching TV)
5:00pm - Check vitals, babies heartbeats, and dinner.
6:00pm - I usually went on my 45 minute daily wheelchair ride! haha
7:00-8:30pm - I tried to get my shower in
9:00pm - I start watching my seasonal shows and Kenny leaves ): (EXCEPT on Sundays! He would stay until 10:00pm to watch The Walking Dead with me :))
and By Midnight I was usually sleeping. And I did that EVERYDAY! For 6 whole weeks!

PREPARE TO DELIVER!
The day finally came when my doctor, Dr. Chapa felt it was best to deliver. After closely watching Baby C Bentley, we needed to deliver on behalf of Baby B Colton!! Later that evening my doctor came to my room to talk about our plan and he ordered another round of steroid shots (which I know I forgot to mention but let me add that those are awful!) before I could deliver to help support their lungs a little better. I also learned that day that I would NOT bet having my usual doctor performing my c-section and instead Dr. Khoury would because Dr. Chapa won a basketball ticket that he played and was taking his wife to Florida! WHAAAAT?! So needless to say I was nervous but he assured me that the doctor performing my c-section was the one he would want to do it instead of him. the day finally came when I could deliver my boys! It turns out that Dr. Khoury is Dr. Chapa's best friend, is the god father to one of his kids, and was the best man in his wedding. So that made things A LITTLE better....
April 18, 2013: DELIVERY DAY!!!
My c-section was originally scheduled to be at 11:00am but an emergency c-section came in and I got bumped to 2:00pm. Well around 12:30 I started contracting!!! So they knew that they couldn't push me back any further! Ready or not the boys were on their way! The prep time for my surgery took so long! But it only took 3 minutes to get all the boys out! And then another hour or so to close me back up! After my surgery I was sent to recovery and once I could start wiggling my toes I was okay to move to my new room. BUT FIRST! I got to see my babies!
